Our company has achieved Travelife Partner recognition.
Travelife Partner is the entry recognition level within the international Travelife sustainability programme for tour operators and travel agents. This recognition confirms our commitment to further improving the sustainability of our business operations through a structured sustainability management system and the implementation of recognised sustainability practices.
Travelife Partner recognition is awarded following an independent assessment based on the Travelife Partner criteria. During this assessment, our sustainability policy, objectives, management system, implementation of key sustainability practices and supporting documentation are evaluated against 60 mandatory sustainability criteria.
To maintain this recognition, our company is independently reassessed every two years to verify that we continue to comply with the Travelife Partner criteria.
Travelife Partner also provides the basis for progressing to the highest recognition level: Travelife Certified. This recognition is awarded following a comprehensive independent on-site audit based on the Travelife Certified criteria. This standard comprises more than 200 mandatory sustainability criteria and verifies the implementation of sustainability management and sustainability practices throughout the entire organisation.

Responsible travel guide
Practical, answer-first guidance for travellers planning a more responsible journey across the island.
Responsible tourism in Sri Lanka means travelling in ways that leave measurable benefit with local people and places. In practice it covers how a journey is designed and operated: which guides and suppliers are used, how wildlife is watched, how communities are visited and paid, and how waste, water and energy are managed along the route.
Choose experiences that are owned and delivered locally, spend directly with village enterprises, artisans, cooks and small guesthouses, and allow enough time in one place for that spending to matter. Ask your operator who receives the money, agree photography and visiting etiquette in advance, and buy crafts at fair, unhaggled prices.
Watch from a distance that does not change animal behaviour. Stay on designated tracks, limit time at a sighting, never surround or block an animal, refuse feeding and touching, and avoid captive-animal attractions. Travel with trained naturalists who can interpret behaviour, and prefer early or late game drives when parks are quieter.
Travel slower and cover fewer kilometres, carry a refillable bottle and refuse single-use plastic, use rail or shared transfers where practical, keep air-conditioning and laundry demand modest, and respect water scarcity in the dry zone. Fewer, longer stays reduce emissions and increase what each destination earns from your visit.

No. Jetwing Travels currently holds Travelife Partner recognition. Travelife Partner is the entry recognition level within the international Travelife sustainability programme for tour operators and travel agents and is awarded following an independent assessment against the Travelife Partner criteria. It should not be confused with Travelife Certified, which is the programme’s highest recognition level.
